Dhal Dumpling Soup Recipe



  • 2 packs of Instant Dhal
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 2 pimentos
  • A few leaves of chadon beni, celery and chives
  • A few gloves of garlic
  • 1 hot pepper (optional)
  • Add 3 cups of water to a pot on medium heat.
  • Add potatoes to water and bring to a boil.
  • In a blender, grind seasoning garlic and pimentos
  •  Add 2-3 tablespoons of green seasoning to the pot.
  • In a large bowl add flour and brown sugar.
  • Combine and gradually add water, squeeze dough between fingers to bring it together, knead into a ball. Set aside for 2 minutes.
  • Cut open packs of Dhal, remove the Oxygen Absorber. Add Dhal to the pot and stir until lumps dissolve.
  • Shape the dumplings by pinching a piece of the dough, roll into palm of the hands to form a log, cut into pieces and add to the pot to boil. Repeat until all the dough is used up. Add dumplings to the pot and allow to cook for 2-3 minutes. Stir and taste for salt, add as needed.
